Engagement & Communications Manager
Colorado Municipal League
CML is actively seeking passionate and talented candidates to fill our Engagement & Communications Manager position. As a key advisor and leader on CML’s management team, this role’s critical functions are to plan, design, implement, direct and evaluate communications strategies and membership services to ensure that our advocacy activities and training content is meeting both the organization’s and our members’ goals. The Manager will actively partner with the CML Legislative Advocacy team and leverage all available communication channels and platforms to promote the value of local government, develop curriculum for CML training programs for municipal officials throughout the state and to clearly message changes in the Colorado municipal landscape. Our successful candidate will be a team player, a relationship builder, possess high moral and ethical standards and have strong understanding and experience in developing communications strategies, preferably in a local governmental or non-profit entity. An individual who understands Colorado municipal issues and be able to communicate those quickly and accurately is expected. Someone who has a passion in bringing these two skill-sets together is the ideal match. Because you will be managing communications and member engagement staff, experience as a supervisor or manager is strongly preferred. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in political science, public administration, journalism, or related field, as well as a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a closely related field managing communication strategies and programs, preferably in a non-profit, public sector, or public information capacity. Salary range: $65,600 - $98,400. CML offers an excellent benefits package. Please submit a letter of interest along with a resume, references, and salary requirements by midnight Friday, May 17, 2019 to: Lorna Younger, HR Consultant, lyounger@employerscouncil.org. Email applications preferred. The Colorado Municipal League is an equal opportunity employer.
